The Mushroom: a poem By John McKinley Pride Jr

"The Mushroom"

If the dark drives you mad’
Then you could never be a mushroom.

If secrets drive you crazy
Then you could never be a mushroom.

If you don’t like been fed muck by those who are above you,
Then you could never be a mushroom.

If you could never stand been stepped on you could
Never be a mushroom.

America we are mushrooms.
